It is said that "Music makes a house a home," and we believe
that
if
we supply a system to you that is not musical we are compromising
the quality of your life. We work according to
solid principles in
designing and installing systems and because
we started as an
audio company long before home cinema was invented. We thought
it
would be a good idea to outline what
makes a good music or cinema system.
- 1) The source is the most important, so starting with a
good recording has the maximum benefit. The CD or
DVD player must be able to extract all the information from the disk you bought without any noise, distortion
or loss of content. Unfortunately low cost supermarket
CD and DVD players do not do this, leading to poor
music and picture quality.
- 2) Music or video then has to be passed to the Amplifier
or processor being used so good cables are a must.
These must pass everything and add nothing. Cheap cables belong in the dustbin as they tend to be noisy
and harsh leading to bad audio and video quality.
- 3) Next comes the Amplification where the weak signals
get boosted and sent on to the Speakers, televisions
and projectors. Again they must do this without noise
or distortion and the amplification must drive the
speakers correctly with no audible loss of dynamics
at any volume setting. Unfortunately many
manufacturers design amplifiers with misleading specifications and we recommend that you listen
before you buy.
- 4) Finally come the loudspeakers and TV's etc. the main thing to remember that without a good source they
will not perform properly. If you think that the loudspeaker or TV are the most important components you are wrong as they only reproduce the signals they receive. The ideal is to match everything for the
optimum result which is to be able to listen and watch without being annoyed at poor sound or picture quality. Specialist advice can and will save you a lot of money as people who are passionate about what they do will care for you...
5) Your system can only be successfull if it was installed
and calabrated carefully. A good system in the wrong hands can sound terrible. You need the right tools, knowledge and understanding of acoustics to make the most of any system.
We look forward to hear from you as we believe that after
you understand the principles it will be easier for you to make informed decisions. |
